This was a really funny and cute story. I didn't want to put it down and read it in one sitting. I am a big fan of nerd girl/athlete stories. I enjoyed both their texts and in person interactions. You can see they have a lot of chemistry. Mav just needs to convince Delaney to give another football player a chance. I didn't love certain parts of the plot and others feel a little predictable (which holds me back from giving this 5 stars) but overall another great book Ms Madden-Mills.

Fantastic and definitely a SIX star read, I’d give more if I could!  I just really love Maverick that much.  We even share the last name, so that kinda already makes him mine. Lol!   He is cocky and arrogant for sure, but has so many layers to him that once you start digging deep and see the REAL Maverick, you’ll be just as enchanted with him as I am!

Truth: I haven’t been with a girl in months. I’m turning them down left and right. 
You’re so full of yourself. 
True, he says. But I am the best. 
Best at what? Football? Volleyball? Baseball? 
Why are you turning them down? I ask. 
I’ve been waiting on you. 

Swoon!  It started with random texting, Delaney doesn’t know who her mystery texted is, just that’s he’s an athlete and after her ex cheated on her, she’s sworn off all athletes, especially football players.  But this mystery tester has her attention. He has her intrigued and he says some of the wettest things to her (and some hot things too of course!) and has her rethinking her stance on athletes, if only she could know who he is.  They mystery, that’s the fun part!  

Everywhere Delaney happened to be, she sees Maverick, he’s beginning to make her rethink her whole outlook on athletes. He infuriates her sometimes and acts all cocky and confident but she’s starting to slowly peel back all the many layers of Maverick Monroe.  He’s more than a football player, he’s more than a famous NFL pick, he’s more than the “big man” on campus, he’s the total package all the way. 

**Just keep him at a distance, I tell myself, but the truth is I’m weak and tired of fighting this feeling. Maverick freaking Monroe is in my kitchen, without a shirt on, watching me cook like he wants to eat me instead of the food I’m preparing.

I can’t say enough how much I loved Maverick and Delaneys story, the chemistry, the banter (definitely my favorite) and all the things that goes into a perfect novel. And this is perfect, one of my new favorites!  You will surely be swept off your feet by one sexy AF Maverick Monroe! Especially when you get to the core of his being and see just how completely swoon worthy he really is!
